Leonidas Howden

A finance professional with over a 15 years of experience in the natural resources industry, Leo has founded, financed and managed several metals focused companies as well an FCA regulated corporate finance and investment advisory firm. Leo has extensive expertise in equity, debt, mergers & acquisitions and principal investing and was a non-executive director of Tesoro Resources (ASX:TSO) which discovered the El Zorro gold project in Chile prior to listing on the ASX. Leo previously worked an Associate Director for German investment bank, WestLB AG in London, working as an originator in the structured commodity finance team. Leo holds a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK.

Rob Harris

Dr Rob Harris is Chief Technology Officer at Descycle, following a career as a Research Fellow at the University of Leicester. Dr Harris has close to 20 years’ experience working in Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES), having been involved in the development of DES since the invention of the field. He developed several of the pilot scale DES processes and has a strong background in industrial liaison. Following his PhD, specialising in DES characterisation, he worked for Scionix Ltd., for five years working on scale up technologies to develop processes for electric arc furnace dust recycling and novel biodiesel refining processes. Since then he has worked at the University of Leicester on a variety of Innovate UK, NERC and EU funded projects utilising the DES technologies developed at Leicester. Author of 25 papers and 4 patents, h-index = 18.
